The presidential plane, ARG01, acquired during Alberto Fernández's presidency, will depart for the US for required maintenance. The move comes after delays in service due to legal issues and various extensions sought by current President Javier Milei.

Presidential Plane to Undergo Maintenance in the US

The presidential plane ARG01, acquired during the presidency of Alberto Fernández, will take off tomorrow for the United States after being stationed for four months in the military zone of Aeroparque Jorge Newbery. The Argentine Air Force will be responsible for carrying out the operation.

The Boeing 757-256, painted in national colors, last flew during Javier Milei's visit to Europe from June 21 to 25. The aircraft required mandatory maintenance known as C Check, which is performed when the aircraft has accumulated a certain number of flight hours and landing and take-off cycles.

Although the government of Alberto Fernández had launched a bidding process to carry out this work, the situation became complicated when it was reported. Subsequently, a criminal case was initiated to investigate possible negotiations incompatible with public functions.

During the early stages of Javier Milei's administration, it was decided not to use the planes from the presidential fleet. However, for security reasons, it was determined that the president would resume using these aircraft, leading to multiple extensions being requested to allow Milei to fulfill his overseas travel commitments.
