The national government has officially announced an internal restructuring within the Ministry of Economy. Through Decree 215/2026, published in the Official Gazette, the Secretariat of Coordination of Production will temporarily absorb the functions of the Secretariat of Industry, Commerce, and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). This decision was made due to a vacancy in the leadership of the aforementioned secretariat. Consequently, the current head of the Secretariat of Coordination of Production, Pablo Lavigne, will immediately assume all competencies of the vacant position. The official text stipulates that the functions of this unit will be assumed by Lavigne 'until a permanent appointment is made for the position, with the exception of specific matters where replacements have already been arranged'. The position has been vacant since August 2025, when the former head of the secretariat, Esteban Marzorati, left his post.
