Buenos Aires, March 25 (NA) – The State Intelligence Secretariat (SIDE) reported that its head, Christian Aguadra, held a meeting in Washington D.C. with the director of the CIA, John Ratcliffe, who announced an institutional recognition for the Argentine agency. The meeting took place at the headquarters of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in Langley, where Ratcliffe formally communicated that the recognition for SIDE personnel will be delivered next April at the same headquarters. According to the communiqué accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the distinction is based on the results obtained in recent joint operations, the ongoing professionalization process, and the creation of the National Anti-Terrorism Center (CNA), considered a unique initiative in the region.
Within the framework of the agenda in the United States, the first 'Meeting of the Americas' was also held in Washington D.C., with the participation of representatives from Argentina, Mexico, Ecuador, Paraguay, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and Panama.
During that meeting, policies related to combating terrorism, drug trafficking, and money laundering were addressed.
