Four men have been arrested in the city of Río Piedras, Salta, Argentina, for setting up fake traffic checkpoints to rob drivers. The incident occurred on February 13th. The suspects used uniforms and road equipment to impersonate officials. When police arrived, the criminals fled in two pickup trucks. One vehicle was intercepted at kilometer 680, leading to the arrest of the driver. The other passengers escaped into the bushes near Las Tipas stream but were later found by tracking footprints and tire marks. One of the arrested men had a warrant for his detention for aggravated robbery, while the others had prior records for property crimes. A judge has ordered them to be held in preventive custody.
