President Milei Travels to the US and Chile in Key Diplomatic Tour

President Javier Milei will depart this Friday for the United States, marking his fifteenth trip since assuming office. This tour demonstrates absolute geopolitical alignment with the Trump administration. The visit takes place amid a tense international scenario due to the escalation of the war in the Middle East. The first stop will be Miami, where Milei will participate in the “Shield of the Americas” summit, a forum convened by the White House aiming to bring together twelve regional countries under the premise of “promoting freedom and security.” The event will be held at a hotel in Doral, owned by the U.S. president. The objective is clear: to strengthen military cooperation in a context where the Pentagon is closely monitoring movements in global hotspots. The following day, the economist and his delegation will travel to Manhattan for the “Argentina Week,” an investment road show designed to position the country as a safe destination for funds from entrepreneurs interested in strategic sectors, particularly energy, mining, and agribusiness. The government will showcase the opportunities opened up by the labor reform, which lowers labor market costs, and the Glaciers Law, which has passed the Senate and is awaiting debate in the lower house. For this leg of the trip, Milei will be accompanied by about ten governors who support his political direction, are in tune with his course, and seek to strengthen their ties with the president, which has already shown positive parliamentary signs, as seen during the recent extraordinary sessions. Once the head of state concludes his participation in Manhattan, he is scheduled to cross the Andes to attend the inauguration of José Antonio Kast as president of Chile. This federal tour is aimed at capitalizing on support in the provinces and thanking voters for their backing in the latest national legislative elections. The other event is his participation in the new edition of the NOA Economic Forum (FENOA2026), to be held on Thursday, March 19, from 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM at the Hilton Garden Inn Tucumán. It will be a day organized by the Federalism and Liberty Foundation, which highlighted that the president “will be the Guest of Honor and Main Speaker of the NOA 2026 Economic Forum.” Former National Security Minister and current Senator Patricia Bullrich will also attend the event.
