Argentine Football Strike Begins

A strike in Argentine football began this Thursday, meaning there will be no official or friendly matches in any category throughout the entire weekend. The decision for this strike was made by the club executives at the Executive Committee meeting of the Professional Football League, which took place on February 23. At the same meeting, the measure was taken in support of the Argentine Football Association (AFA) due to the complaints filed by the Revenue and Customs Control Agency (ARCA) for alleged tax evasion. In this way, football fans will have to wait several days to see their favorite teams again. According to the Argentine News Agency, activity in Argentine football will resume on Tuesday, March 10, when date 10 begins. There will even be an intense sequence of days with matches, as it will conclude on Friday and the following day, date 11 will begin. Meanwhile, date 9 will be played in early May, so the teams that qualify for the playoffs will have a very intense few weeks if they continue to advance.
