Milei to Participate in Security Summit in Miami

Argentine President Javier Milei, invited by his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump, will participate in the Latin American Security Summit within the framework of the 'Shield of the Americas' initiative. The meeting will take place this Saturday in Miami. The White House stated that the objective of the summit, which will be held at a Trump hotel in the city of Doral, is to 'promote freedom, security, and prosperity in the region.' White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted that the countries 'have truly formed a historic coalition to work together against criminal gangs and narco-terrorist cartels, and to counter illegal and massive migration not only to the United States but to the Western Hemisphere, which remains a key and primary priority for this president.'

In addition to Milei, invitations were also extended to the heads of state: Rodrigo Paz (Bolivia); José Antonio Kast (Chile); Rodrigo Chaves (Costa Rica); Luis Abinader (Dominican Republic); Daniel Noboa (Ecuador); Nayib Bukele (El Salvador); Mohamed Irfaan (Guyana); Nasry Asfura (Honduras); José Mulino (Panama); Santiago Peña (Paraguay); and Kamla Persad-Bissessar (Trinidad and Tobago). For now, the names of Brazil's Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Uruguay's Yamandú Orsi, and Venezuela's Delcy Rodríguez are not on the list, although they may be included in the coming days, according to Argentine news agency Noticias Argentinas.

The meeting is taking place amid the military escalation led by the United States, along with Israel, against various positions of Iran, which has generated great tension, not only in the Middle East but also in the rest of the world, due to the potential consequences of the conflict. Furthermore, Milei received U.S. Ambassador Peter Lamelas in Olivos in recent hours, and during the meeting, he reaffirmed his alignment with Trump's policies.

Subsequently, Milei will travel to New York to participate in 'Argentina Week' with a group of local business leaders. The forum, which will take place in Manhattan from March 9 to 12, aims to present Argentina's economic and financial situation with the objective of promoting private investment opportunities.
