Argentina Updates Domestic Worker Salaries

In Argentina, salaries for domestic workers have been updated following an agreement between the government, unions, and employer representatives. The agreement aims to compensate for inflation. Salaries are divided into five categories based on the type of work and employment status (with or without live-in). Effective March 1, 2026, minimum wages were increased by 3% (1.5% in February and 1.5% in March). In addition to the raise, the agreement includes a special bonus of up to $20,000, the amount of which varies depending on the number of hours worked per week: up to $8,000 for up to 12 hours, up to $11,500 for 12-16 hours, and up to $20,000 for over 16 hours per week. Employers are required to formally register labor relations, pay social security contributions, health insurance, and work risk insurance, complying with the law regulating the labor rights of this sector.
