President Javier Milei has ordered the security level to be raised to HIGH across the entire national territory due to the well-known events that have occurred in the Middle East, as officially reported by the President's Office.
«The President's Office informs that President Javier G. Milei has ordered the security level to be raised to HIGH throughout the Argentine national territory, due to the well-known events that occurred today in the Middle East,» the official communiqué, accessed by the Argentine News Agency, stated.
The measure affects «all sensitive targets in the country, as well as critical infrastructure and the Jewish community, among others, with the aim of guaranteeing the integrity, life, and freedom of the inhabitants within the national territory».
In this context, it was indicated that «through the relevant ministry, protection and security devices for the aforementioned targets will be strengthened preventively, including the reinforcement of the custody of foreign diplomatic representations in the country».
Likewise, by presidential instruction, «the National Intelligence System will permanently monitor the evolution of events, in cooperation with international agencies, in order to ensure the immediate detection of possible risks or threats to national security».
Similarly, «the alert protocol has been activated at the borders, which implies the reinforcement of controls on entry and exit from the country, the increase in traceability of cross-border movements, and the review of early warnings in considered sensitive areas,» the text detailed.
The scheme contemplates the coordination of the State Intelligence Secretariat, the Ministry of National Security through the National Directorate of Migration and the Federal Security Forces.
«The National Government reaffirms its inalienable commitment to the defense of life, freedom, and the constitutional order, and will continue to adopt all necessary measures to preserve the security of Argentines in a scenario of high international tension,» the communiqué concluded.
