National Senator Mariano Recalde (Justicialist Party) described the government's labor reform bill as 'a monstrous law' due to its breadth and content, warning that it 'contains many unconstitutionality issues' and 'it is obvious that this will end up in court'. As the main opposition bloc's spokesperson, the Kirchnerist legislator confirmed the rejection of the Justicialista bloc, as the version returned to the Senate is 'practically the same' as the one originally voted on. The Campora member stated that it is a 'monstrous law' due to the large number of laws it modifies and its 'content' itself. He also criticized that it was brought to the chamber 'expressly', with little prior debate, as compiled by the Argentine News Agency. 'All these things are done when a law goes against the people. When a law is in favor of the people, no irregular or express procedures are needed,' he said. For Recalde, the government's reform 'conspires against the legal security they want to offer investors'. 'Legal security is jeopardized when laws that violate the Constitution are proposed. It is not a condition for job creation. We ask them to clarify this explicitly to avoid litigation. They said it several times. With the 'bank of hours,' an unlimited workday is allowed, with the only limit being the 48 weekly hours,' he warned. Regarding the 'bank of hours' policy, Recalde warned that 'it would allow a worker to agree to work 12 hours straight'. 'This is blatantly unconstitutional. They did not want to include it'.
