The National Road Safety Agency (ANSV) suspended the driver's license of a man who was teaching his teenage son to drive in the middle of National Route 40, putting the minor at risk, as well as other motorists who notified authorities about the dangerous maneuvers.

The incident occurred at kilometer 2056 of National Route 40, near Dina Huapi, in the province of Río Negro, when other drivers alerted to the presence of a white van driving recklessly.

In this way, as confirmed to the Argentine News Agency, ANSV agents intercepted the vehicle and confirmed that the person driving the van was a 16-year-old boy, accompanied by his father.

In his defense, the adult stated that he "was teaching him to drive," that they "had left very early," and that "there was little traffic." However, authorities emphasized the seriousness of the situation, not only because it is a highly trafficked national route, but because it was also observed that the vehicle stopped at least three times during the maneuver.

As a result of the procedure, a violation report was filed and the father's license was retained.

"The incident revealed a deeply irresponsible behavior: allowing a minor with no license or prior training to drive, aggravated by doing so on a high-traffic road," ANSV stated.

Summer Controls nDuring the Summer Season 25/26, the ANSV carries out operations and preventive patrols daily on different routes, highways, and access roads to tourist destinations to prevent traffic accidents and raise awareness about the importance of respecting traffic rules.

So far this summer, the national agency, in conjunction with the provinces and municipalities, has inspected 689,000 vehicles and sanctioned 15,890 drivers for various reasons.
