Argentina Increases Highway Toll Tariffs

The National Directorate of Viality (DNV) has approved a tariff increase of up to 19% for tolls on national highways concessioned to the state-owned company Corredores Viales S.A., which is currently in the process of privatization. The approval was formalized through Resolution 248/2026, published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette, after completing the 'Participative Elaboration of Norms' procedure to allow for public expression. The official text, analyzed by the Argentine News Agency, stated that the tariff increase request was made by the concessionaire Corredores Viales S.A., seeking a review of the fees for Sections I to X of the national road network. After analyzing the proposal that raises the minimum price for cars to $1,500, the National Directorate of Viality deemed the update 'appropriate' and developed the tariff chart projects that were ultimately approved after the public consultation. The novelty brought by this tariff update is that there is no longer a price difference between cash and automatic payments. This means that TelePASE users will no longer have the differential discount that previously existed, paying the same amount as manual payment in all time slots and vehicle categories. The new established prices will take effect this Thursday, February 26, and affect the ten sections concessioned to Corredores Viales S.A., which cover a large part of the country's toll highways and national roads.
