Mario Ishii, the acting mayor of José C. Paz, held a meeting in the Colombian city of Envigado with local mayor Raúl Cardona González. This meeting took place within the framework of actions aimed at strengthening the UNESCO Learning Cities Network. According to the Argentine News Agency, Ishii participated in the meeting as vice president of the Latin American Network of Learning Cities, with the goal of strengthening ties between member cities and promoting exchanges of public policies focused on lifelong learning. The meeting was held in the context of the formation of the Colombian Network, which consists of nine cities. This network, according to the official statement, aims to consolidate institutional partnerships and common agendas in education and continuous training. The general coordinator of the UNESCO Network worldwide, Raúl Valdés Cotera, also participated in the event. He valued the exchange of perspectives and the debate of proposals focused on improving lifelong learning processes, according to official information. The municipality stated that Ishii's participation aims to strengthen relations among the members of a network that is 'constantly expanding' in the region and to position José C. Paz as a district with experience to contribute to educational and inclusion policies. In this line, the commune stated that the district seeks to showcase a 'model based on quality education,' with strategies aimed at sustaining educational trajectories and promoting tools that support social development processes. The local government affirmed that these international exchanges are part of a cooperation agenda that aims to build 'more equitable and transformative' public policies, with a focus on training and regional integration.
