In Gaza, amidst the genocide caused by the blockade, thousands are dying from preventable causes. In September 2025, one such story inspired a film. In May 2024, 5-year-old Hind Rajab was fleeing Gaza with her family. Fearing new bombings, her parents decided she should travel by car with her uncle and aunt, as she was too young for the long walk on foot. An Israeli tank intercepted their vehicle and opened fire. Hind, her family, and her uncle and aunt were killed. Nearby, the bodies of two Palestinian Red Crescent workers, Yusuf Zeino and Ahmed al-Madhoun, were found; they had come to rescue the girl. Before the attack, Hind's 15-year-old cousin, Layan, had called the Red Crescent, reporting that her parents and siblings had been killed and begging for help. Hind, who survived the initial attack, was on the line, saying, 'Come for me. I'm so scared, please come.' Her voice was recorded and became her last testament. The film 'Hind's Voice', directed by Tunisian director Kaouther Ben Hania, premiered at the Venice Film Festival, where it won the Silver Lion. It was also nominated for a Golden Globe and an Oscar. Yet, despite its international acclaim, no Argentine cinema has screened it. The Argentine connection emerged when it was revealed that one of the killers was Lieutenant Colonel Beni Aharon, the commander of the battalion responsible. Furthermore, a specific perpetrator with Argentine citizenship was identified: Itai Cukierkopf. In October 2024, as the film began to win awards, the 'Hind Rajab Foundation' revealed his involvement. Complaints were filed in Argentina regarding his presence in the country, as he has an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court. This link to Argentina has become a shameful chapter in the country's history.
