Buenos Aires, December 2 (NA) – Nahiara, a 16-year-old girl accused of stabbing her boyfriend Santiago Nahuel López Montes to death in Lanús, will be held in preventive custody. Although she requested to be confined to her home, the benefit was denied during the hearing held on December 2. According to what the Argentine News Agency learned, the accused this morning gave a statement to prosecutor Juan Ignacio Colazo and gave her version of what happened, the relationship they had and how she managed to remain a fugitive from Justice for several days. The young woman was detained on November 28 at her uncle's house in La Matanza, and a few days after her arrest she decided to testify with her lawyer to try to distance herself from the case. While one of the victim's older sisters, Tamara López Montes, stated that the alleged murderer had already hit Santiago and that she believed 'men have to be hit,' the accused recounted that the young man had stayed to sleep at her house and started an argument. The accused recalled: 'I get out of bed and decide to go out on my motorcycle. When I start it, he comes running into the kitchen, takes the key from me and tells me I'm not going anywhere, so we argued.' According to the document accessed by the Argentine News Agency, the accused maintained that the crime was in self-defense and described a previous scuffle in which she showed herself to be 'scared' and told her version of the facts. Days earlier, the victim's sister had described Nahiara as a dangerous and violent person.
