Marcela Acuña Testifies in the Cecilia Strzyzowski Murder Case

Marcela Acuña, one of the main defendants in the femicide case of Cecilia Strzyzowski, testified and stated that she is 'very hurt' by this. She recounted that she liked that Cecilia was her son César's partner, the fight she had with the young man about the marriage, and what she did on June 2, 2023.

'I would never harm a person, a human being,' Acuña stated. 'They have destroyed my family. But no. They wanted a political position. Just one.'

It hurts.

She also apologized to the victim's mother, Gloria Romero: 'How can I hate a person I barely knew? Gloria Romero (Cecilia's mother) gave birth, just like I did, we are women, and I ask for her forgiveness and from all the comrades who are part of Ni Una Menos. That was the only time I touched upon the topic,' she indicated.

In another part of her testimony, Acuña denied that she had ordered the body of Cecilia to be taken to a dump and burned, although she did confirm that she said 'get this problem off my hands' and that she changed her cell phone.

'I lied because I was afraid for César,' she added. 'I told Fabiana to give me the contact of former Governor Jorge Capitanich so he could talk to his people to stop the media circus, not the raid,' she recounted and emphasized that, as she recalls, she asked the accused of obstruction of justice to 'change her testimony.'

'I told her that I believed something serious had happened in my house,' she added. Regarding the reason she decided not to tell Emerenciano anything, she said that upon meeting him, 'he was going to call the police.'

Acuña also stated that she requested the release of her ex-partner: 'Let them let Emerenciano go, it's a backpack I'm carrying. What motive could I have had with a girl I didn't even know? I silenced something that I don't know what the hell happened.'

When questioned, Acuña went through everything she did on June 2, 2023, the day she confirmed that the scratches on her son César Sena's neck were from a fight with the victim. 'I liked her because she was older and I had the idea that he would be able to build a more stable relationship with her,' she pointed out. 'When I hugged him, I saw he had scratches and he told me he had a fight with Cecilia,' she explained.

In turn, she recounted what she saw at her home that afternoon: 'In the house there is a door that never opens, and that day it was ajar, which seemed strange to me because no one goes in. Our relationship was distant, but we never had a single fight,' she added.

Regarding the marriage, she told how she found out: 'I found out on social media that they were getting married, and that's when I did exchange opinions with César because I told him that if he did it, he had to leave the house.' There, she stated that in the conversation the young accused man told her he did not want a divorce, but that if he returned to live in the house, he would do so: 'I paid for the divorce.'

'Cecilia was just another girl of all that César had. She was the one who gave love to the son I love.'

On the morning of June 2, 2023, César approached the construction site and I asked him why he didn't come early. I saw it as strange, and the strange thing is that it was hot and he was wearing a neck brace. I was waiting for Gustavo to answer me, to tell me what the hell it was,' she stated. 'He only sent me a sticker, I didn't get another answer, so I told Fabiana to go and see what had happened. I fled in terror.'

'I sent a message to Gustavo Obregón and I told him to go check. I was talking to Cecilia and she was telling me that everything was fine.'

Before beginning to answer questions, she asked for forgiveness: 'I am guilty of not realizing the state of health of my son and not thinking about the pain I caused to many people.'

'When I saw him after a year, I asked him to forgive me. There was a media trial,' she refuted. In this context, she commented that in 2023 together with Emerenciano they went to campaign in the Open, Simultaneous, and Mandatory Primary Elections (PASO): 'That took up our whole day, we were everywhere, and it was during that time that I lost a bit of the relationship with César. I ask for forgiveness from everyone, especially from Emerenciano.'

'I look, I see that it was all dark, I enter the first bedroom where we had all the things for the soup kitchen, I go to the other room, I look from above because I was afraid there might be someone, and when I go to the last bedroom I see a bundle, but it was not a body. We have been pointed out. But society already believes that I disemboweled someone.'

Furthermore, she confirmed that she is no longer in a relationship with Emerenciano. 'And he answered me, 'between comrades, you don't ask for forgiveness, you tell the truth.' From now on, whatever the result, I will be more at peace,' she concluded.

'They had a week to discover the truth. When someone lies and covers up, it causes more pain. It doesn't matter to me what happens to me. I asked him not to tell Emerenciano anything. I lied again to cover myself. Let them give me just one reason why I planned it. The justice system did not take into account the family of Cecilia.'
