On Tuesday, the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) held a meeting with the Secretary General of the TUAC, Verónica Nilsson, within the framework of Argentina's accession process to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). According to the central labor union's statement, the meeting focused on 'the defense of collective rights and the monitoring of the Argentine process before this international body.' Furthermore, labor reform projects currently under discussion were addressed, which, according to the CGT, would 'jeopardize fundamental rights such as working hours, the compensation system, and the right to strike.' Union leaders also reported on setbacks in labor and union matters since December 2023 and mentioned episodes of repression, citing data from a report prepared by the Secretariat of International Relations, led by Gerardo Martínez (UOCRA). At the conclusion, Nilsson highlighted the work done by the central labor union regarding Argentina's accession process to the OECD. Participating in the meeting were the secretaries general of the central body, Jorge Solay and Cristian Jerónimo, along with members of the Board of Directors. Also present were Martín Denis, an advisor to the TUAC, and Marta Pujadas, representing the CGT's Secretariat of International Relations.
