A 20-year-old young man was arrested accused of the murder of a retired Federal Police officer in the Buenos Aires district of La Matanza. Police sources informed the Noticias Argentinas agency that the murder occurred last July on Fonrouge Street, in the locality of Aldo Bonzi, where the 65-year-old officer was washing his car on the sidewalk of his home when he was attacked by the suspect along with an accomplice. Alejandro Paulino Negri, who was transferred to the City Police, identified himself as a uniformed officer and a shootout occurred during which he was shot in the chest, while the thieves fled. The victim was taken to the Alberto Balestrini Hospital in an emergency, where his death was confirmed. In this context, prosecutor Carlos Adrián Arribas, from the Homicide Unit of San Justo, ordered the execution of various field tasks with the aim of identifying those responsible and granted the investigations to the Homicide Division of the PFA. One of the fugitives, 18 years old and alias "Stanley", turned himself in at the Superintendence of Federal Investigations, while the authorities corroborated that the second fugitive, nicknamed "Rochito", was moving between different properties in the conurbation. In addition, he contacted criminals who guaranteed him places to hide from the police in various settlements. The perpetrator, 20 years old, who had a national and international arrest warrant, was arrested at the intersection of Avenida Crovara and General Belgrano, in Aldo Bonzi, and was charged with "aggravated homicide for criminal reasons", "aggravated robbery by the use of a firearm" and "illegal carrying of a war weapon".
