The 'Notebooks' case is considered the most extensive investigation into corruption in the history of Argentine justice. The trial against former President Cristina Kirchner and 86 other defendants will begin this Thursday. The case, known as 'Cuadernos,' investigates a supposed illicit association in the awarding of public works contracts between 2003 and 2015. Along with Kirchner, 19 former officials, two of her drivers, and 65 businessmen are on trial. They are accused of forming a criminal organization that collected money from companies in the construction, energy, and transport sectors in exchange for state contracts. Court sessions will be held every Thursday from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM virtually on the Zoom platform, with some streamed on YouTube. The trial can proceed after the Supreme Court of Justice rejected over twenty appeals filed by the former president and other defendants. The general prosecutor, Fabiana León, who will lead the prosecution, stated that this is the most extensive corruption investigation in the history of Argentine justice.
