Macri questions Franco's replacement by Adorni

Former President Mauricio Macri questioned the departure of former Cabinet Chief Guillermo Franco this Saturday and stated that his replacement by an inexperienced official «does not seem to be good news.» He made these remarks regarding the appointment of the new coordinating minister, Manuel Adorni. «Yesterday I was invited to lunch by President Milei at Olivos in gratitude for the support I gave him during the most difficult week of his government before the elections. At the meeting, we discussed pending issues. The idea was to think of the best way to reinforce the teams and prepare for this second stage, but we failed to reach an agreement,» Macri recounted. The former president emphasized that «the departure of a man with capacity and balance like Guillermo Franco, who represented sensibility to the citizenry, to be replaced by another without experience, does not seem to be good news.» He added that there was a possibility of appointing «another competent person from his team, with a more technical profile and greater capacity for leadership and team coordination, such as Horacio Marín, current president of YPF, who has all the necessary qualities due to his previous experience.» Macri recalled that «the Chief of Cabinet of Ministers is an essential figure: he coordinates the political and management teams around an agenda and a strategy» and considered that «in my opinion, this mistaken decision is added to the lack of resolution of the known internal disputes of the government, key to the roadmap for the future.» The former head of state lamented the situation and highlighted the opportunity the country is facing: «After the effort made, the revalidation by the people at the polls and the unprecedented support from the United States, the country is facing a historic opportunity that cannot be missed.» Meanwhile, Macri clarified that he is seeking no personal benefit and stressed that his contribution is due to the interest in the country's future: «As the president has said publicly, I have not asked nor will I ask for anything personally, but I feel obliged to make my contribution and express my concerns because the future of the country unites us.»
