Mayor expresses dissatisfaction with Cristina Kirchner's letter

The mayor of Exaltación de la Cruz, Diego Nanni, criticized former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner's letter, calling it 'inappropriate' and discrediting the work of mayors. He also commented on the future of Peronism and Axel Kicillof's potential as a presidential candidate.

The mayor of Exaltación de la Cruz, Diego Nanni, analyzed the political scenario after the elections and expressed his dissatisfaction with the letter published by Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, which he described as an "inappropriate" reaction that "hurt a lot," considering that it discredits the territorial work of mayors in the campaign.

Nanni explained that the meeting with Axel Kicillof and the mayors of Buenos Aires Province had been called before the former president's letter, with the aim of evaluating the results of September 7 and October 26, and understanding the political impact of the so-called "Trump effect" on the government of Javier Milei.

"It was a logical meeting after the election to analyze what happened. It hurt, because we work 365 days a year. The mayors did a very important political job," he stated.

Regarding the role of Axel Kicillof, he was categorical:

"Kicillof is more than ever a presidential candidate for 2027. The letter appeared later, but a speech was already prepared," he affirmed in dialogue with Splendid AM 990.

The local leader assured that there was a marked difference in the composition of the electorate between the two dates:

"Not only did more people vote, but also who voted changed. We want him to be our candidate and we are going to work for that." Nanni also mentioned names like Verónica Magario and Andrés "Cuervo" Larroque as possible figures to hold leadership positions within the Buenos Aires PJ, along with mayors from the Greater Buenos Aires area and the interior of the province.

Regarding the immediate political future, the mayor pointed out that Peronism must "take in the data" and rebuild from the ground up:

"The important thing is to understand who the people voted for on September 7 and who they voted for on October 26. A speech was already prepared."

Asked about the future of Peronism, the mayor stated that he does not expect immediate breaks, but stressed the need to renew party leadership.

"After September 7, we have the legitimacy to ask to lead the Buenos Aires PJ. On September 7 we had a historic result and in October it was different. We have to take care of it. This analysis will serve us to build going forward."

"On some tables, only 60% of voters repeated between one election and another."

"The letter hurt; we work every day."

Nanni pointed directly to Cristina Kirchner's message and defended the role of mayors in the campaign:

"The post-electoral reaction was inappropriate. It's not that we worked for an election. We administer misery, we attend to neighbors who pay for food with a card and don't make it to the end of the month. It hurts for them to tell us that we could have done more."

And he added:

"If we had won by three points, they were still going to say that the mayors didn't work."
