A 48-year-old Argentine woman has been extradited from Paraguay on charges of robbing jewelry stores. One incident occurred in the Chaco province of Argentina, and another in Paraguay. In May 2024, she broke into a commercial premises in Chaco, climbing a sign and breaking the bathroom window. Inside, she stole 150,000 pesos from the cash register and jewelry worth approximately $218,000. Following this, Argentine authorities requested an international warrant through Interpol. Paraguayan colleagues informed them that the woman had been detained in November 2024 for a similar crime. In July 2025, they officially confirmed her detention and initiated extradition proceedings. After diplomatic approval was granted on October 15, 2025, the Argentine police carried out the operation to transfer the accused across the border crossing between Clorinda (Argentina) and Puerto José Falcón (Paraguay). The woman was then transported to the Chaco province to be handed over to the judicial authorities.
