María Eugenia Vidal (PRO) stated today that her party "has to be a strong and independent alternative" for 2027, and asserted that "the strength and stability of a country is determined by the kind of opposition it has". She stated: "We need to know that La Libertad Avanza has an alternative, that it is not the only path, and that this alternative is rational, serious, and professional." Vidal added that her party will not risk the efforts of millions of Argentines. She recalled that they were told that it was impossible to implement the single-paper ballot, but this Sunday Argentines were already voting with the new system. Vidal said that the election results brought her "relief in knowing that on Monday everything wouldn't fly apart", but also "sadness at not seeing a PRO yellow ballot in most of the country", and remembered that "it is the fourth time in the last 10 years that Peronism has lost an election in the province of Buenos Aires and it has always been against PRO leaders". Finally, she expressed her hope that "the President will open up to dialogue", "confirm a change of direction and make the pending reforms", and "call the best to his government, no matter what party they belong to".
"I believe that is the task of the PRO," she stated. In a video uploaded to her social networks, the former governor of Buenos Aires province pointed out that since Javier Milei's government took office, "the PRO has been a guarantor of change" and in Congress, "from the 'Bases' law onwards, it has supported without speculating on any of the reforms that were good for Argentina". "After so many years of failure in Argentina, it is not only important to do things right, it is important that when the one in charge stops governing, the one who comes also does the right thing, and today we still have not achieved that in Argentina," she asserted. Vidal justified her statement by emphasizing that "even with the difference the President got in this election, the second force in the country is still Kirchnerism", and this implies that "insiders and outsiders do not invest". "As the Minister of Economy said well, as long as Kirchnerism is the alternative, it will be very difficult for many insiders and outsiders to decide to invest, no matter what changes we make, we need to know that LLA has an alternative, that it is not the only path, and that that alternative is rational, serious, professional." Vidal anticipated that this stance on turning PRO into the alternative to LLA will be a "topic of debate in the party in the coming weeks". She reiterated: "After so many years of failure in Argentina, it is not only important to do things right, it is important that when the one in charge stops, the one who comes also does the right thing. And that is the task of the PRO."
