Human remains were found in the province of Entre Ríos, and authorities are assessing whether they belong to Martín Sebastián Palacios, the taxi driver who was brutally murdered by Pablo Laurta. The same man is also accused of the femicide of his ex-partner and her mother-in-law in Córdoba. The remains were found on Wednesday night by a driver next to a black bag on route 15, heading towards Sauce Sur, 150 kilometers from where Palacios's torso was found during the first days of searches. According to the police report accessed by the Argentine News agency, at the scene, «an incomplete skull with hair remains, a temporal bone, a lower jaw with complete dentition, two dental pieces, four phalanges corresponding to a hand, incomplete radius and ulna bones (missing their extremities), hair strands, six cervical vertebrae, three bone fragments, and a black bag with cadaveric fluid remains» were recovered. Laurta is currently detained in the Cruz del Eje jail in Córdoba. All findings were sent to the Forensic Medical Department of Paraná «for forensic examination and the bag to the Tala Scientific Police Bureau for subsequent fingerprint lifting,» they indicated. This Thursday, «searches of the entire area and surroundings continue to find other evidence of interest to the case». Laurta is currently detained in the Cruz del Eje jail in Córdoba for the double femicide.
