The General Confederation of Labor (CGT) will hold a meeting of its "inner circle" to analyze the organization's position on the labor reform promoted by the government and the renewal of authorities that the central body will carry out on November 5.

According to information from the Argentine News Agency, the meeting will take place at 3:30 PM at the headquarters of the Construction Workers' Union (UOCRA), led by Gerardo Martínez, Secretary of International Relations of the central body and a member of the Council of May representing the labor movement.

The labor organization has two main items on its agenda: the strategy to be adopted in response to the government's intention to push for a new labor reform following its victory in the legislative elections, and the renewal of authorities for a new triumvirate.

The CGT's co-general secretary, Héctor Daer, had yesterday stated that the labor center will reject the labor reform if it is meant to "roll back" acquired rights.

"If the labor reform is progressive, that's one thing. We have a concept of the progression of rights, but if it is to roll back, there will be no negotiation of any kind," Daer said in a radio interview.

Regarding the renewal of authorities, the CGT congress will be held on November 5 at the Obras Sanitarias stadium, with candidates including Jorge Sola, head of the Insurance Union and current spokesperson for the CGT; Cristian Jerónimo, head of the Glass Workers' Union, and Maia Volcovinsky, deputy secretary of the Judiciary Workers' union.
