Former National Senator Hilda 'Chiche' Duhalde criticized former President Cristina Kirchner and the president of the Buenos Aires Justicialist Party, Máximo Kirchner. She stated that there is an 'inability to lead' and a 'lack of leadership' that could cause this political space to 'disappear'.
Following the defeat of the Justicialists in Sunday's elections, the former First Lady stated that Peronism must 'get back on its feet' with leaders who love the doctrine. Duhalde emphasized that 'true unity of Peronism requires greatness' and stated that Cristina Kirchner is currently 'a stone in the shoe' for the unity of the movement.
She also expressed her displeasure that Máximo Kirchner is leading Peronism in the province of Buenos Aires, saying: 'I in no way accept that he leads our party, he has no background or basis to lead a party like ours'.
Duhalde added that she is concerned about the lack of awareness that without serious leaders, Peronism does not exist. 'Men and women who agree that it must be recovered must get to work and re-elect their authorities, but today we have a lack of leadership that worries me, otherwise we will disappear, as other parties have disappeared,' she warned.
In an interview with the 'Noticias Argentinas' program on Splendid AM 990, she said: 'We have to see if the PJ can get back on its feet, reshuffle the deck and be together again. We have to understand that the State has no way to get resources, either it prints money or it generates jobs'.
