Carolina Papaleo Criticizes Current Political Climate

Businesswoman and actress Carolina Papaleo, the second candidate for Buenos Aires legislator on the 'Just, Free and Sovereign' list led by Juan Manuel Abal Medina, stated that she is part of a 'luxury list' because none of its members 'live off politics and people know us, know where we come from.'

Papaleo lamented that the debate among the top candidates of each list, held last week, had 'seventeen candidates,' and after assuring that 'nobody watched it in full,' pointed out that it was 'the candidates' debate of some primaries.'

'Women in politics must unite with our own claims, beyond our political position,' said Papaleo, acknowledging libertarian Lilia Lemoine as an exception and commenting that she is 'a freak in Congress.'

The candidate recalled that her mother, actress Irma Roy, held political positions in the past and emphasized that there is currently 'a rift between the population and politics.'

In her criticisms of the Buenos Aires government of Jorge Macri, Papaleo stated that 'the Colón Theatre operates for an elite; it seems private,' and advocated for it to become popular and accessible to all, arguing that it currently does not seem to be a state space.

She also questioned libertarian candidate Manuel Adorni for his comments about using a chainsaw in the city, considering it an illogical proposition as there are already established management tools.

Finally, the businesswoman criticized the use of 'hate speech' in the campaign, believing that 'they are creating a psychosis that drives the population crazy.'
