Diego Maradona's daughter, Dalma, and journalist Yanina Latorre have been at odds for at least a year, but recently the controversy intensified when Latorre referred to Dalma as "little fool" and claimed that her father was involved with girls aged 14 and 15. Dalma responded by saying: "I don't feel like getting into a fight. It seems to me that she is jumping on a bandwagon to criticize something that... She speaks from knowing only part of the story."
In an interview, Dalma continued expressing: "I say this with all respect for everyone who speaks against my dad... It's very easy to hit someone who is not around, that's why I'm responding. Otherwise, I would have to shut my mouth; you go find him and have him respond." She also pointed out that Latorre spoke ill of her behind her back despite publicly claiming otherwise.
Dalma added that she feels Latorre is attributing actions to her father that he did not commit, which she considers unfair. The actress expressed her discomfort with the journalist's attitude, describing her as someone who pretends to be friendly but then criticizes from behind. She emphasized that she feels obliged to defend her father against false accusations.
For her part, Latorre claimed that Dalma does not talk about certain aspects of her father's life and questioned her stance on certain controversies. However, Dalma replied that she has no intention of getting into provocations and prefers not to engage in such discussions. She concluded by saying that she has no personal problem with Latorre, but she does not approve of the attitude that Latorre has shown toward her and her father.
