Patricia Bullrich Leaves PRO for La Libertad Avanza

The Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, will formally leave PRO, the party she helped found alongside Mauricio Macri, to align herself with the government of Javier Milei. Since joining the Cabinet after the 2023 elections, Bullrich has been one of the most praised officials by the president. She is now positioning herself as a possible candidate for senator in the national elections in October.

Her decision to leave PRO comes amid tensions between leaders of that party and La Libertad Avanza, over a possible agreement in the province of Buenos Aires. When asked about her departure, Bullrich responded: 'What did you want?'. While Macri proposes an alliance between parties, Bullrich is moving forward in what her surroundings describe as 'a natural process' towards the libertarian ranks.

During a tour of La Libertad Avanza in the City of Buenos Aires, led by Manuel Adorni and accompanied by Karina Milei, Luis 'Toto' Caputo, and city legislators like Juan Pablo Arenaza, Bullrich encountered a neighbor in Palermo. The neighbor confronted her with the phrase: 'We voted for you, but not for you specifically,' referring to the support received by her party but not towards her in particular.

This Tuesday at 6 PM, Bullrich is scheduled to sign her membership to La Libertad Avanza at a public event alongside Karina Milei and Manuel Adorni in a public square in Buenos Aires. The walk of La Libertad Avanza through Palermo was part of the strategy leading up to the legislative elections and aimed to engage with neighbors to establish the government's narrative in the region.
