The governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, has explained why he has not signed agreements with the National Government, pointing out that the lack of public works is not the responsibility of the governors, but of the president of the Nation and Luis Caputo. In a press conference alongside the Minister of Government, Carlos Bianco, the province's Minister of Public Works, Gabriel Katopodis, criticized the management of President Javier Milei, accusing him of having not carried out national public works in the last 500 days.
Katopodis indicated that the lack of national public works complicates the reactivation of pending works in the province of Buenos Aires, affecting the quality of life of the population. He expressed that actions are being planned to complete 508 road construction projects in the next 30 months, with an investment of 1.9 trillion, which will cover more than 4,580 kilometers of roads.
Moreover, the minister reported that a group of mayors has joined the demand for the lack of public works and filed a complaint against the National Government for not allocating the funds necessary for the repair of the roads. He highlighted the importance of investing in infrastructure for the development of the province, emphasizing that these actions would generate more jobs and improve competitiveness.
In this regard, Kicillof has made the decision to promote investments in infrastructure to ensure the development of the province of Buenos Aires. An investment of more than 500 billion pesos is expected for this year, and it is projected to add 900 billion pesos throughout 2025.
