Libertarian deputy Lisandro Almirón surprised everyone by enthusiastically supporting the nomination of Oscar Zago, head of the MID bloc, to chair the Bicameral Commission on Legislative Procedure. This gesture was unexpected after they had a physical confrontation in the Chamber of Deputies last week.
Almirón and Zago met again in the mentioned commission to discuss the Urgent and Necessity Decree that authorizes the Government to negotiate an agreement with the IMF. Despite the uncertainty regarding Almirón's stance towards Zago, the deputy from Corrientes reaffirmed his support for his former party mate.
In his own words, Almirón emphasized: "Despite all the speculation, I will vote for Zago, because above all is the Republic, above all is President Javier Milei who came up with this proposal so that the good of the country can be enjoyed."
It is worth noting that the last session in which both legislators participated ended in a physical confrontation, stemming from a dispute during the quorum voting. However, today Almirón showed his support for Zago with a fervent "Long live freedom, damn it," emphasizing his position in favor of freedom and joint work for the benefit of the country.
