Crisis and Social Discontent in Argentina

The General Secretary of ATE, Rodolfo Aguiar, expressed in an interview on Radio Splendid his concern about the management of the Argentine Government. Aguiar stated that the Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, should resign, as he believes that her actions only lead to 'accumulating deaths' and an imminent 'social chaos.' He highlighted that the loss of purchasing power is alarming and that the country is suffering the consequences of a Government that operates outside the law.

Regarding the governmental leadership, Aguiar claimed that the Government has failed in its management, referring to officials as 'failed CEOs' whose administration is costly for Argentinians. He announced the mobilization of public employees for March 27 in rejection of the cuts in the State, targeting the ministry of (Federico) Sturzenegger. He also expressed his hope that Congress will establish institutional limits against the decisions of the Executive.

In relation to the agreement with the IMF, Aguiar warned that this commitment could severely affect Argentina's sovereignty. He also criticized lawmakers, stating that they are far from fulfilling the mandate of society. Finally, he announced ATE's participation in the march this Wednesday, emphasizing that the mobilization is in defense of democracy and not just for the rights of retirees.
