The government managed to deactivate for a few hours the committee plenary on Wednesday in the Chamber of Deputies, where the opposition was going to rule in favor of the creation of an investigative committee for the "cryptogate." The special session requested by the La Libertad Avanza bloc will gain priority on the agenda due to the earlier call. This session will address the decree to endorse the negotiations of the Executive Power with the International Monetary Fund regarding a new agreement.
In this move, the government accelerates the processing of a key decree to finalize the agreement with the IMF and momentarily postpones unfavorable discussions regarding President Javier Milei. The opposition is considering raising a new motion in the chamber to convene the committee plenary and advance in the proposals for requests for information and interpellations.
Since the request for session was presented, the benches of Democracy for Always, Union for the Homeland, and Federal Encounter are preparing for a counteroffensive. This Tuesday, an informative meeting will be held to discuss projects related to the political responsibility of Milei and his government in the "cryptogate." The opposition is studying strategies to advance in the creation of an investigative committee.
The submitted documents include the creation of an investigative committee, requests for information from several relevant officials, requests for interpellation of President Milei and other government members. Movements are expected to address these issues in the plenary and gain sufficient support, considering the different positions of the involved political blocs.
