The Minister of Security, Patricia Bullrich, has switched from the PRO to La Libertad Avanza some time ago, but she has not yet fully formalized her transition, unlike other leaders who have followed her steps. There are doubts about whether she will ultimately do so. "If you are from the PRO, you support PRO candidates," she ironically replied regarding the official's closeness to the libertarians and her lack of clarity about her current party affiliation.
"I think she will only do it if she is asked," mentioned a leader close to Bullrich. It has been noted that there is an outstanding issue with the national deputy bloc of the PRO, some of whom answer to her, which could be one of the reasons why she has not yet formalized her departure.
Bullrich has been absent from meetings and internal life of the PRO for a while, and has positioned herself on the libertarian side, in charge of the sensitive area of security, which has become controversial again due to recent incidents at the march to Congress. Her personal relationship with President Javier Milei has strengthened, as evidenced when Milei publicly supported the minister after the criticisms and calls for her resignation that she received.
Although Bullrich has never officially announced her departure from the PRO through a statement or on social media, as other leaders have done, her active participation in La Libertad Avanza has been noticeable. In a recent interview, the head of government, Jorge Macri, hinted at Bullrich's situation in the party, suggesting that the minister is no longer part of the PRO.
In the midst of an upcoming election, Bullrich seems determined to support the candidates of La Libertad Avanza, although she has not yet officially announced her departure from the PRO.
