The workers of Linde Praxair Pacheco expressed in a statement their satisfaction with the agreement reached with the employer after 99 days of intense struggle. Although they were unable to reintegrate all the dismissed colleagues, they believe that they achieved significant victories in this battle.
During the conflict, the workers managed to halt operations at the 5 establishments that the company has in the Greater Buenos Aires area, which affected the production of large companies due to the lack of gas supply. For the past 20 years, they have upheld principles such as assembly, direct action, unity, and solidarity, which they applied during the 99 days of struggle.
Despite the difficulties, all decisions were made in assembly and unity was maintained among the workers of Pacheco and other branches, as well as with employees of other companies and industries. National and international solidarity was crucial, as was the dissemination of the conflict to gain support.
The union organization of the workers faced not only the employer but also certain attitudes from the Chemical and Petrochemical Union of CABA and Adjacent Areas, which created discord with their stances. Despite everything, the workers feel proud of having resisted and made significant progress in the midst of an adverse political context.
