Controversy Amid Protest Repression in Argentina

In Argentina, libertarian activist Gordo Dan sparked outrage by advocating for harsher repression of protests amid ongoing tensions. This follows the critical condition of photographer Pablo Grillo after police violence during a demonstration.

Controversy Amid Protest Repression in Argentina

In the midst of the controversy over the repression during the retirees' march and while photographer Pablo Grillo remains hospitalized in critical condition, libertarian activist and friend of Javier Milei, Gordo Dan, has once again generated controversy by publishing a message on social media claiming that "we need to repress harder." The comment accompanied an image of a poster from leftist groups stating, "Milei and his government must go," alongside illustrations of the Casa Rosada in flames and hooded figures with torches.

Gordo Dan's publication, an active defender of Javier Milei's government on social media, unleashed strong criticisms and was interpreted as a call to deepen violence against the protesters. The message came to light in a context of growing political tension after the severe repression on Wednesday in Congress, where Grillo was struck in the head by a tear gas canister and ended up in intensive care.

The controversy adds to the recent clash between Gordo Dan and Viviana Canosa, after the journalist reported being threatened following her questioning of his comments on the repression.
