Controversy Erupts Over Police Response to Protest

Journalist Mariana Brey caused controversy on C5N by defending the police's actions in the repression against retirees in Congress and stating that the injured woman "was hitting with the cane" before being struck. "The one who was hitting with the cane? Then she admitted: 'It's true that she reacted with the cane, but she was kicked in the chest, her head was broken, and the ambulance took half an hour'", Brey asked about the woman who received a blow to the chest and head from an officer.

According to the Argentine News Agency (NA), Brey questioned the presence of hooligans at the protest and stated that "the best way to defend a retiree is to work legally and contribute," referring to the groups of fans who accompanied the protest.

In the exchange with Marcela Feudale and Fernando Soriano, the journalist asserted that what happened was "an attempt of a coup d'état to remove Milei," while Soriano confronted her by mentioning the case of Beatriz Blanco, the 81-year-old retiree injured during the repression.
