Public security must be strengthened with clear and unwavering decisions. It cannot be allowed that security personnel are composed of individuals with borderline training or links to sectors that threaten the stability of the State. Likewise, the command of the forces must be exclusively in the hands of security experts, free from political interference. Only through a solid and efficient structure can public order be guaranteed and prevent organized groups from continuing to use violence as a tool for political pressure.
The absence of certain actors who have historically conditioned police actions, including permissive judges and political figures who undermined institutions, opens a window of opportunity for the State to regain effective public order control without ideological interference. A Congress taken by decomposition. Within Congress, the situation was no different.
Security forces need absolute support, both political and legal, to operate without restrictions imposed by judges of dubious morality or political actors with interests contrary to institutional stability.
A structural redesign of the security system is imperative. It is time to establish a system where leadership in security matters is exercised by trained professionals, with salaries commensurate with their responsibilities and with the necessary authority to perform their duties without external conditions. It is now or never.
This era change represents a unique opportunity to reset the security system at all levels. The stability of the country and the future of public security depend on it. The presence of organized elements was evident, which, far from fulfilling legislative functions, operated as internal shock groups, encouraging disturbances and violence.
With political backing at its highest point within the current management, the window for making strategic decisions is open, but it will not remain so for long. In this context, the virtual reappearance of figures historically linked to subversion and political violence, such as Mario Firmenich, only confirms that certain sectors seek to perpetuate anarchy and destabilization as a method of political action. What happened inside and outside Congress is not an isolated event, but a sign of the paradigm shift that the country is undergoing.
Security forces cannot continue to be a last-resort job refuge, characterized by low selection and training standards. Improvisation and learning on the job cannot be an option. However, it is not even about the most structured or strategically organized factions, but rather the remnants of a decaying system.
The current moment demands drastic and firm measures to consolidate this change of era. The urgency to reorganize and empower the security forces allows for no delays. The security forces must be optimized, refinanced, and professionalized immediately. The enemy must be displaced, reduced, and neutralized in its maximum expression.
Organized violence, the use of shock groups, and attempts to create an atmosphere of chaos remind us of previous episodes, such as those recorded during the administration of Mauricio Macri, where disturbances on public roads reached levels of extreme violence with the sadly famous day of the 14 tons of stone. However, unlike that time, there is currently no political and judicial structure that limits the actions of security forces or prevents them from fulfilling their duty.
A deep reform is required to professionalize the forces, ensuring their suitability, continuous training, and skill certification. It is time to act with determination. The events that occurred yesterday in the vicinity of the National Congress and within the legislative chamber have been a clear reflection of a cultural battle in full transition.
The traditional social control structure of Kirchnerism, based on funding picketers and organized social movements, has been progressively dismantled, leading to the hiring of new actors for confrontation: barrabravas and marginalized elements willing to create chaos in exchange for financial benefit. It is now or never.
