A 21-year-old woman was the victim of a knife attack by her ex-partner while resting with her children in the province of Santiago del Estero. The incident took place in the Buey Muerto neighborhood in the city of Forres during the early hours of Tuesday.
The victim, identified as Dalma Ruiz, was at her home with her little ones when her ex-partner, Santiago Orellana, entered through the window and assaulted her with a knife in several parts of her body. After the violent attack, the assailant fled into the woods.
Dalma was urgently taken to a local hospital where doctors confirmed multiple injuries to her face, chest, neck, arms, and back, diagnosing her with 15 days of bed rest. The on-duty prosecutor, Dr. Pilar Gallo, from the Banda section, ordered the apprehension of Orellana and the statement of the victim's sister regarding the case.
The investigation also involved officers from the 52nd Police Station and the Departmental 8. The police continue to work on the case to clarify the facts and ensure the safety of the victim and her family.
