
This Thursday, March 13th, the First National Congress of the Union of Workers and Workers of the Popular Economy will take place, concluding at the central headquarters of the CGT to commemorate the 12th anniversary of the ascension of Pope Francis. The event will feature the participation of 400 delegate congress members from across the country.
The main focus of the congress will be on strengthening unity with the labor movement and popular movements, as well as the adoption of union organization by activity branches, territorial reorganization, and the voting on a struggle plan for the current year. According to a statement, constant mobilization in defense of retirees and the organization of a multisectoral mobilization day against the new indebtedness with the IMF proposed by the government of Milei and Caputo will be considered.
The closing ceremony of the Congress will begin at 5:30 PM in the Felipe Vallese hall of the CGT, with the presence of guests from the CGT governing council, labor organizations, human rights agencies, student organizations, and feminist organizations, among other sectors.
