DEPUTY MOREAU CRITICIZES POLICE OPERATIONS

National Deputy Cecilia Moreau (Union for the Fatherland) expressed her opinion this morning regarding the Government's stance, indicating that it has "one foot in democracy and another in a state of exception." She compared the police operation planned for the retirees' march to the practices of the dictatorship, describing the actions of Patricia Bullrich, Minister of National Security, as "brutal and excessive repression."

In statements to Splendid AM 990, Moreau emphasized that society no longer tolerates the treatment of retirees: "for every retiree, there are three or four members of the security forces." The deputy mentioned that the operations against retirees' marches begin days in advance and noted that Congress was never fenced off, unlike the current government's approach.

"They walk with one foot in democracy and another in a state of exception," explained Moreau, citing examples such as the Decree of Necessity and Urgency for the agreement with the IMF and the situation of the Supreme Court judges. She warned of a possible authoritarian temptation in the current government.

The deputy also highlighted the situation of retirees, noting that spending on medications disproportionately affects this sector of the population. She mentioned that the bonus for those receiving minimum pensions remains frozen at 70,000 pesos.

Regarding the special session called in the Chamber of Deputies to address the cryptocurrency $LIBRA, Moreau expressed optimism about reaching the necessary quorum to start the discussion. She anticipated that the vote on the creation of an investigative committee related to President Javier Milei's conduct would reveal the positions of the deputies: "it will become very clear who wants the truth to come out and who wants to hide the trash under the carpet."
