The president of the UCR-Cambio Federal bloc in the Buenos Aires Chamber of Deputies, Diego Garciarena, criticized the management of Governor Axel Kicillof, questioning whether the province of Buenos Aires is making progress as the governor claims or regressing, as perceived by the majority of citizens.
In this regard, Garciarena demanded that Kicillof address the security crisis affecting the people of Buenos Aires, proposing a comprehensive security plan and effective coordination with national authorities. He also urged Security Minister Javier Alonso to present his policies to the Legislature to address this issue more effectively.
Regarding education, the legislator pointed out the high school dropout rate and deficiencies in the literacy process, criticizing the absence of responses, calls, and a unifying educational project throughout the Province.
Garciarena also emphasized the difficult situation of IOMA, the most important social security institution in the Province and the country, which he claims is bankrupt, affecting millions of affiliates and residents of Buenos Aires. Regarding infrastructure, the legislator pointed to problems such as flooded neighborhoods, overflowing sewage systems, and deteriorated rural roads, reflecting, in his opinion, a neglect by the provincial government.
In the area of production, Garciarena expressed his concern about the government's attitude toward rural and industrial producers, claiming they face constant tax increases and that investment in different sectors is discouraged. Finally, the legislator criticized Kicillof for apparently focusing more attention on political issues and his potential presidential candidacy than on managing the problems of the province of Buenos Aires.
