Former Argentine president, Javier Milei, is in the eye of the storm after being involved in a crypto scam scandal that has earned him harsh criticism. The statements by Claver-Carone, a Trump administration official for Latin America, suggesting an investigation into Milei's advisors for alleged links to the case, have increased pressure on the politician.
Former president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner did not hesitate to express her opinion about Milei and his government through Twitter, highlighting publications from Forbes and The New York Times that accused him of leading a scam involving 250 million dollars. Kirchner labeled Milei as a "global scammer" surrounded by "local corrupt individuals."
In her criticisms, Kirchner also questioned Milei's economic policies, especially regarding inflation, challenging his claim of having reduced it. The former leader suggested that Milei’s government is facing a critical moment marked by social discontent and economic difficulties.
Kirchner sarcastically commented on the announcement of a new agreement with the International Monetary Fund that Milei presented as a tool for a more efficient economy, pointing out that prices continue to rise while wages are falling. The former president interpreted Milei's comments about potential ups and downs in his economic plan as a veiled admission of a devaluation.
Additionally, Kirchner denounced cuts in sensitive areas such as pensions, education, and health, accusing the government of treating people with disabilities inhumanely. In a sarcastic and critical tone, the former president concluded her message by noting that Milei seems to have made a turnaround in his management, comparing his situation to turning an hourglass and predicting negative consequences for his government.
