The General Secretary of ATE, Rodolfo Aguiar, expressed the need to initiate a recovery process for income during a mobilization at the headquarters of the National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA). Aguiar urged to maintain expectations in the struggle plan and to avoid negotiations turning into a 'new farce'.
Aguiar also criticized the Government, pointing out that it seeks to obtain impunity for acts of fraud and corruption, and emphasized the importance of establishing 'institutional limits' on President Javier Milei. The union leader questioned the appointment by decree of Ariel Lijo and Manuel García-Mansilla to the Supreme Court, stating that around 3,000 contracts expire on Friday and more than 50,000 by the end of March.
In response to Javier Milei's Government calling on state workers for negotiations next Friday, ATE urged to avoid the negotiations turning into 'a new farce'. Aguiar welcomed the reopening of negotiations but criticized the aim to maintain fiscal balance without considering the needs of different sectors of the population.
The collective bargaining agreement for the national public administration, called by the Secretary of Public Employment, was deemed insufficient by ATE regarding inflation. According to Aguiar, the increases granted by the Government at the beginning of 2025, 1.5% and 1.2% for January and February, respectively, were considered 'miserable' by the union. A statement reported a series of continuous salary reductions in the sector.
