Deputy of Democracy for Ever, Fernando Carbajal, expressed his discontent over the swearing-in of Manuel García-Mansilla by the Supreme Court and renewed his request for reconsideration of Ariel Lijo's appointment. Carbajal, who is a member of the Radical Party and answers to Facundo Manes and Martín Lousteau, had previously asked the court president, Horacio Rosatti, not to swear in García-Mansilla and Lijo, arguing that their appointments had been made by decree.
In a statement, Carbajal criticized the appointment of judges in committee, labeling this practice as incorrect, and emphasized his hope that Lijo's appointment could be stopped. The Democracy for Ever bloc submitted a note to the Supreme Court, urging Rosatti not to swear in Ariel Lijo and Manuel García-Mansilla until their resumes are approved by the national Senate.
"We request the Court not to swear in Lijo and García-Mansilla. We were not heard," Carbajal complained in a post.
The former judge criticized García-Mansilla's actions, noting that his initial behavior did not reflect the honesty he had promised. In the note presented to the Court, Carbajal along with his colleagues Pablo Juliano, Jorge Rizzoti, Manuel Aguirre, Mónica Coli, Margarita Stolbizer, and Ricardo López Murphy, insisted on the need to safeguard republican order and the constitutional rule of law, rejecting the appointment of judges in committee made by the National Executive Power and warning about the possible power conflicts this situation could entail.
