Retired Protest at Congress

This afternoon, incidents and scuffles occurred during a protest by retirees at the Congress. The demonstrators demanded the extension of the pension moratorium and the return of 100% of the medicines from PAMI, among other requests. In support of the mobilization, organizations such as the Polo Obrero and the CTA joined, backing the defense of pension rights.

One of the participants expressed: "We are fighting for our rights, we cannot allow them to take away what little we have. We need our pensions and benefits to be respected, we are tired of unfulfilled promises." Tensions increased when the police attempted to disperse the demonstrators, leading to moments of tension and confrontations.

The retirees, visibly indignant, stated that they would continue protesting until they received a satisfactory response to their demands. "We will not stop until we are heard. We demand that our acquired rights be respected and our needs addressed urgently," another demonstrator pointed out. The presence of various social organizations at the mobilization evidenced broad support for the retirees' demands.
