The former national deputy of the Civic Coalition (CC) and lawyer Elisa Carrió referred to the case regarding the draining of YPF, which she initiated in 2006. Carrió stated that both the President of the Nation, Javier Milei, and the potential judge of the Supreme Court of Justice, Ariel Lijo, "have the obligation to deliver" all documentation of the case to the U.S. justice.
"Milei, as head of State, and Lijo, as the judge of the case I initiated in 2006 regarding the draining of YPF, have the obligation to deliver all the files to the Judge of the United States, according to Article 36 of the National Constitution," Carrió pointed out.
These statements come after U.S. Justice set the deadline for this Tuesday, February 25, for the presentation of the parties in the case that could nullify the judgment for more than 16 billion dollars that Argentina must pay concerning the oil company. This is due to the presentation made last Monday by the civil organization Republican Action for Argentina (RAFA).
In addition, national deputy and president of the Civic Coalition ARI, Maximiliano Ferraro, also addressed the issue, stating that, thanks to the submission of the NGO and the complaint by Carrió that Lijo "has kept shelved for years," Judge Preska "could revoke" the ruling against Argentina for the 16 billion dollars.
