Carolina Losada and Alejandra Vigo hold in their hands the corresponding seats in the Senate. Agustín Giustinian, the Parliamentary Secretary, will also need to be ratified in his position. The group has clearly distanced itself from the actions of President Javier Milei on several occasions.

The departure of María Laura Izzo has been surrounded by internal changes and the appointment of a replacement led by Emilio Viramonte Olmos, a Córdoba advisor who has the lawyer's trust for a long time. Close sources to the head of the Upper House expressed to the Argentine News Agency their hope that the session scheduled for the next day will proceed without issues.

The Senate is scheduled to open its doors on Monday at 4 PM to carry out the renewal of authorities. The focus is on the modification in the Administrative Secretariat, a role of great importance for Vice President Victoria Villarruel, currently held by María Laura Izzo, who will be replaced by Silvia Sapag from Neuquén. The first and second vice presidencies will be available for allies.

Victoria Villarruel will attempt to impose Emilio Viramonte Olmos in the Administrative Secretariat, according to what was agreed with allied blocs in a recent meeting. Another relevant position in dispute is the Provisional Presidency, currently held by Senator Bartolomé Abdala from San Luis. This position is of vital importance for the ruling party, which lacks senators with legislative experience.

María Laura Izzo will end her term after a 2023 filled with tensions and internal conflicts. The formation of a group of young people in the Senate, known as Argentine Right, led by Juan Martín Donato, has posed certain challenges for Victoria Villarruel, who has dealt with pressures coming from the Casa Rosada.

Amidst these changes, it is expected that Kirchnerism will obtain the vice presidency.
