Controversy Over Jurisdiction in Token Case

A legal dispute arises over jurisdiction regarding the $LIBRA token promoted by President Javier Milei. Hayden Davis seeks accountability amid investor losses.

Controversy Over Jurisdiction in Token Case

There is controversy surrounding the jurisdiction of the case involving the creator of the $LIBRA token, Hayden Davis, and President Javier Milei. While some point to the Quinta de Olivos as the epicenter of the crime, Davis's defense points to San Isidro, despite the fact that the accused was not in Argentina when Milei promoted the token on social media. Prosecutor Eduardo Taiano is in charge of the investigation.

A judicial source suggested that the court of Sandra Arroyo Salgado could be competent, given that it already has a complaint related to the same facts. Davis's lawyer will present herself before the Argentine judiciary to expose "the true responsible" for the millionaire losses suffered by investors caused by the token promoted by Milei.

The lack of response from the Executive Branch and the withdrawal of support from a senator who was pushing for the creation of an investigative commission have also been questioned. There are doubts about the editing of a televised interview with Davis and whether it was aired by the channel TN or by individuals linked to the presidential environment.

Despite having made a video statement and given interviews, Davis has remained silent since Milei's appearance on television. Lawyer Yanina Nicoletti expressed her concern about the lack of judicial action, noting that no concrete criminal measures have been taken in eight days. In the absence of progress in the investigation, Davis's legal team will present itself as a complainant and plaintiff to provide evidence that helps clarify the case.
