Argentine President Javier Milei was involved in a controversy during a presentation at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). During his speech titled "The Argentine Economic Model," he was interrupted by the sound of a ringing cell phone that would not stop. Milei reacted with annoyance, calling the responsible person "a born fool."
Despite the interruption, applause from the audience present supported the president. Milei took the opportunity to recall a past controversy with former presidential candidate Sergio Massa, where he denounced the presence of people interrupting his speeches.
The president, known for his irritability towards interruptions, did not hesitate to express his discomfort and labeled those responsible as "disturbers." He was surprised by the attitude of those trying to sabotage his participation in the event, referring to them derogatorily.
This situation adds to Milei's ninth visit to the United States, where he will participate in the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and meet with prominent figures like Elon Musk and the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Despite the controversy, the Argentine president continues with his international agenda.
